For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 2They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. 6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.” 8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. 9 We should not test Christ, as some of them did—and were killed by snakes. 10 And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel. 11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.
1 Corinthians 10:1-11 (NIV)

I BECOME UNGRATEFUL WHEN I…

  • Forget Where I Come From.

So the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. They appointed brutal slave drivers over them, hoping to wear them down with crushing labor. They forced them to build the cities of Pithom and Rameses as supply centers for the king. 12 But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became. 13 So the Egyptians worked the people of Israel without mercy. 14 They made their lives bitter, forcing them to mix mortar and make bricks and do all the work in the fields. They were ruthless in all their demands. Exodus 1:11-14 (NLT)

  • Forget What Has Been Done For Me.

17 When Pharaoh let the people go…21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. Exodus 13:17,21; 14:21-22 (NIV)

  • Forget What Has Been Given To Me.

They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
                                                                                        1 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NIV)

  • Forget Who Is Always With Me.

They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
                                                                                        1 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NIV)

INGRATITUDE SHOWS UP IN MY…

Worship, Obedience, Giving, Service, Attitude, Influence…Everything!

INGRATITUDE LEADS TO…

God Being Unpleased.

Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; 1 Corinthians 10:5a (NIV)

My Ultimate Demise.

5 Their bodies were scattered in the wilderness…8 and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died…9 and were killed by snakes…10 and were killed by the destroying angel. 1 Corinthians 10:5b, 8b, 9b, 10b (NIV)

TO ESCAPE INGRATITUDE I MUST…

  • Remember What My Life Was Like Before Go

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NIV)

  • Remember The Things God Has Done For Me & Given To Me.

Praise the Lord, my soul, and never forget all the good he has done: Psalms 103:2 (GW)

  • Remember God Is Always With Me.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
                                                      Romans 8:38-39 (ESV)

  • Remember Repent, Rinse, & Repeat.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)

“I will thank you, Lord, with all my heart; I will talk about all your wonderful acts. I will celebrate and rejoice in you; I will sing praises to your name, Most High.”
                                                                                                    Psalms 9:1-2 (CEB)
